It rained in Chennai !

27th October would be a day Chennaits would remember for a long time, when the whole metropolitan city came to a stand still. I have been staying in Chennai for two and a half years and never seen such a scene before. And I am sure the ones staying for generations in Chennai would say the same.

A question comes to me very often these days. Seeing the flood situations the country over, why should not humans evolve and start developing fins ? Seems nature is not happy with us.
Wading through water is fun, but it can soon end if you happen to step into a man hole.

Winds were blowing at high speed. Window glasses shuttered and broke, tree branches snapped. It was as if nature was doing a stress testing on every object on earth.

It was a daring to take vehicles out to the road - and most people prefered staying at home.
A few cars could be seen on road. And they took extreme care to make sure they they don't get into a water body which would submerge their silencer.

You see autos on road !

Trees fell at quite a few places. Cable and eletric wiring snapped.

We didn't have electricity at home during the day. And when it came in the evening, it was single phase. Tubes wouldn't trigger. So bulbs were the resorts. We had hot 'pakodas' and tea to go with the windy and cold climate outside. Listened to the radio and had fun discussing college days.
